Hello
Welcome to Optimize Pelvic Health & Wellness, my name is Jodi. I am a wife and mother of 3. I have been an Occupational Therapist for 8 years and specialized in Pelvic Floor Therapy 3 years ago. My education: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science (SEMO) and Master's Degree from Augusta University. My hobbies include my family, exercise/fitness, antiques, and gardening.
My Story
My journey to pelvic health started when I was 17. I joined the Missouri Army National Guard as a medic, and during my training, I found I enjoyed learning about women's health. After H.S. I worked for 8 years at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Labor & Deliver while I attended college and travelled a lot with the military. I spent 1 year in Iraq (where I met my husband), 1 month serving during hurricane Katrina/Rita, than graduated college. I worked many years as a personal trainer and enjoyed it, but wanted to do more in healthcare. I discovered a love for working with adults/children w/ special needs so I started my journey as an OT. After graduation I loved treating post acute pts, however wanted to make an impact on preventative care and women's health. I too have had pelvic floor dysfunction and upon treating my own symptoms discovered this is the greatest type of therapy (in my opinion)!! I love treating pelvic floor dysfunction simply because I love the impact it makes on our quality of life and overall health and wellness.
